Progress tones, which can be important to users after migration to VoIP, such as Ringback need to be configured to simulate the tones they are used to from their previous PSTN connections. The following are the tones used in Ireland, these tones will ensure the end user will not be aware of any differnce when using their new phones.

This example is used for Cisco phones using the SIP firmware. On boot the cisco phone will request a file from the TFTP server called “g3-tones.xml”. We can enter the configuration in to this file as follows;
